Bio:

Keene Kopper (b. 1979) trained and worked as a design architect in Massachusetts (‘03-’05) and then in New York City for Kohn Pedersen Fox Architects (‘05-’09). While working as a design architect for six years he maintained his artistic practice, producing artwork, and curating arts-specific events.

Keene's core focuses are design, fabrication, and immersive experience; with those focuses, his work includes film and photo set and prop budgeting, design, documentation, and fabrication, exhibition design, curation, residential and commercial design, and construction. He's also the founder of May gallery & residency (2012-2016), a non-profit based in New Orleans, which has received grants from the Warhol Foundation, the Mondriaan Foundation, and a number of other local, regional, national and international foundations.

Keene's has a 14-year background in architecture, construction, and contemporary art production.

He is also the founding Executive and Artistic Director (2012-2016) of May gallery & residency, a 501c3 non-profit based in New Orleans. Under his direction May has received grants from the Warhol Foundation, the Mondriaan Foundation, and a number of other local, regional, national and international foundations.
